September 11 Significance in 2024: Freedom and Democracy
The September 11 significance in 2024 should convey the remembrance of how we all came together after that fateful moment to work as one to save our democracy and freedoms. As we ready for an upcoming presidential election all should be standing together to fight, as we did in the aftermath of the horrific terrorists’ attacks on our nation 23 years ago.
We must band collectively to protect the sacred freedoms that the United States was built on. It is important to be vigilant in a world where history repeats itself — no, we should never approve of a ruling power who believes in a dictatorship, nor should we approve of terrorists, from other countries or domestic, who are working to destroy our constitution and our nation built on the dream of the founding fathers.
September 11 Significance Reminds of Freedom Values
The remembrance of 9/11 is about the importance of coming together to save our democracy and freedoms from terrorists who want to oppress. All who passed and were maimed as a result of 9/11 should not have lost their life and quality of life in vain. We must continue to fight for our freedoms and conquer all who are fighting to take them away — whether from outside terrorists or home-grown.
The evil are not immigrants looking to escape their own oppression. The evil are the terrorists looking to attack to oppress and kill simply because they don’t believe in a nation built for the people and by the people where all are meant to be equal.
NATO was formed 75 years ago as an alliance to protect global democracy. September 11, 2001, was the only time the NATO countries had the urgency to come together as one to protect against terrorists — coming together to protect the United States from further attacks. The Biden administration solidified again the nation’s alliance with NATO and as a leader of the free world. It is terrifying to know that another 9/11 could happen with a leader who only serves to damage democracy and the safety and health of the people in America and around the world
The U.S. was built to escape a monarchy so the people could live in a free and fair society. It was never meant to be the utopian society that the former is hoping for to rule as if king. There is no utopia — only autocratic countries aiming to pretend there is for their elite.
The former weakened alliances around the world. We need a leader who will only work to keep and strengthen alliances to take us forward and not give more strength to terrorists both foreign and domestic.
September 11 Significance Reminds us to Never Give up
We must continue the fight for freedom and never ever relent. When structures are toppled, we band together to rebuild to be even stronger. We should never condone destruction from within as the former has done calling the Jan 6 insurrectionists hostages.
The U.S. is not a weak country. The American people must not elect someone who has proved they only will work to destroy and tear apart a country that has fought so hard for democracy — all to become a puppet for communist leaders. We must elect a leader who has the goal to protect the nation and democracy — to continue protecting the freedoms of all citizens.
The fight against terrorism is real. We must continue being a foremost country of the free world leading together with NATO and the G7 to conquer autocracy and terrorists seeking to destroy freedoms in all societies, and those they perceive are not like them.
Under the current administration, 32 countries are banding together against communism, totalitarianism, autocrats, and terrorists to save democratic freedoms. The 75-year alliance of NATO is what has been keeping peace and protecting democratic freedoms. Let’s honor September 11 significance by not losing sight on the importance of never giving up preserving our rights to live in a free democracy.
September 11 Significance Not Lost on Equality Struggles
United States citizens have the power now to decide a new president. Americans are faced with the choice — vote for the current vice president as a president who will continue to protect alliances and peace, along with our freedoms and democracy at home, versus the former who is in bed with communist leaders, vows to be a dictator on day one, wants to get rid of the constitution, and brags about how he alone demolished women’s reproductive rights. The choice should be easy for those wishing to save democracy and freedom and protect the U.S. Constitution that it was founded on.
July 2024 marked the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act. We are still fighting for equal rights as the former and his people want to set us back 60 years. Along will ending civil rights for those who are not perceived as a white Christian male, the former is bragging about ending the 50 years of safe abortion care taking away necessary vital primary and emergency medical care for females.
The significance of 9/11 should not be lost on the fact that the terrorists that day attacked because of their intense disapproval of the democratic values we should hold dear. Those freedoms and democracy that the terrorists were attacking are what the former and his Agenda 47 (project 2025 dressed up with a new moniker) seek to now remove — to bring people of color, women, lgbtq+, and religious preferences back to the 1950s.
September 11 Significance Reminds US Built to be United
The safety of America is at issue with the coming election. There was an immigration agreement in place favoring what the Republicans wanted. It is the most significant border control deal in decades made with bipartisan support.
Instead of being united, the former worked tirelessly to stop the House Republicans from voting yes on the bill because he wanted to make it his election issue — he cares nothing for the importance of U.S. security. We must vote for a new voice who believes in border regulations that will put the country first for all over a single individual seeking to be a monarch by putting himself first.
In July 2024 the U.S. saw its lowest number of crossings at the Mexican borders in four years even without the passing of the bill. In addition, July saw 32 percent less border crossings than in June. This is all thanks to the Biden Administration’s asylum ban signed in June. Under the present administration, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has also been working with other countries to stop trafficking by criminal organizations resulting in stopping the illegal fentanyl supply. Additionally, in 2023 the country’s violent crime rate dropped to its lowest in 50 years.
Divisiveness will only serve to make the United States weaker and more open to attack from within and without. Standing together to oppose the harmful Agenda 47 and impose fair new policies that will protect all in the U.S. will serve to make America stronger to march into the future unified.
The U.S. needs a leader and administration who will use the right tools to serve the people equitably to allow for a fair democracy of growth and prosperity for all vs the former who only wants to serve as a dictator to only benefit himself.
September 11 Significance Hits Home
Twenty-three years ago, I was on my normal route to work about 20 miles from Ground Zero. As I watched the normal dissent of planes flying overhead ready to land at JFK, I remarked to myself what a gorgeous day of luminous blue skies it was. The music playing on the radio suddenly was interrupted by a breaking news report — a plane hit the North World Trade Tower. As with many others, my initial belief was it must be some inexperienced pilot in a private plane.
I was driven to bring in my portable beach radio into the office figuring I could use some music. The moment the radio was turned on a report blasted that a second plane flew into the South Tower. Then another hit the Pentagon. Terror struck our souls as we soon concluded these were attacks of war against our country.
Moments later we hear that, yet another plane thought to be headed for the Capitol was taken down in a Pennsylvania field by courageous passengers aboard. As these brave travelers gave up their lives to protect others, reality set in that we truly were in a war. Terrified, we wondered where the next attack would be.
With tears streaming down my face, I raced from my office to pick up my then-six-year-old daughter from school. As acts of war hit so close by parents swarmed the school to get their children. Putting my arms around my daughter in a protective hug knowing she was safe was the only thing I knew I must do at that moment.
We must be vigilant in not allowing 9/11 to just be a memory. We must remember those victims who should never have given their lives in vain. We must march into the future united once again, as we were on that day in the aftermath, with a renewed fight of vigilance to protect all our freedoms and lives from the evil embedded within the U.S. and any outside terrorists who wish to cause harm with both rhetoric and weaponry. Let us all raise our flag in unison again and never lose the September 11 significance of continuing the fight for saving freedom and democracy together.
